Itinerary 2


Day 01

Start from Delhi early morning in an air-conditioned cab to Agra. Enjoy the 4 hour drive on the famous Grand Trunk Road (National Highway 2) of India. There is lot to see on the way so it will be an exciting drive. On midway relish the typical Indian Aaloo Ka Parathas at a Highway Dhaba (eating joint).

Upon reaching Agra you can first check-in your hotel and relax for sometime. After that proceed for the Tour of the Taj Mahal. Hold your breath because now you will find the real magnificent Taj Mahal right in front of you. Treasure the moment, discover the connection, feel the emotion, as you are at the Greatest Monument of Love - The Taj Mahal.

Next on the list is the Agra Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also regarded as the most strategic forts of the Mughal Dynasty. This fort is said to date back to 1080 A.D. Spend your time here in gathering some vital knowledge about the era of the Mughal Dynasty in India. Straight from the Agra Fort you will be taken to Kalakriti, where the local artists enact a cultural show which exhibits the royal life of the Mughal Kings. Artists also perform plays highlighting the intense love between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. In the later half of the evening you can indulge in leisurely activities or enjoy shopping in the chirpy markets of Agra.

Day 02

Your second day will also start of with an early morning drive, this time to Fatehpur Sikri. It was once the capital of the kingdom of the Mughals at the time of -Akbar - The Great-, and is located approximately 40 kms from Agra. The place is also famous for the Dargah of Salim Chisti. It has a Buland Darwaza, the biggest door in the world. Next we would take you to Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb. A mausoleum dedicated to the father of Noor Jahan, who was one of the twenty wives of the Mughal Emperor - Jehangir. After that you can visit Sikandra, the mausoleum of the Greatest Mughal Emperor - Akbar.

Day 03

Next morning you will start for Mathura - The Birthplace of Lord Krishna. Every year thousands of devotees come to this place on pilgrimage during Ram Navami for the Govardhan Parikrama. In Mathura you will first visit the -Dwarkadhish Temple-, built in 1814. The architecture of the temple is such that it will dazzle you. Next you will visit the Krishna Janambhoomi named so because it is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna.' It is said that the present temple is built right on the spot where Lord Krishna took birth, which is a prison.

After a quick lunch we will advance to Vrindavan, the place where Lord Krishna was brought up. In Vrindavan you will first visit the Temple of Banke Bihariji which was built in 1862 and is the most popular attraction of the city. Next we will move on to the Madan Mohan Temple which is the oldest shrine located in Vrindavan. This temple is closely associated with the Saint Chaitanya.

Last would be The Shri Krishna-Balram Temple built by the International Society for Shri Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), which is one of the most beautiful temples of Vrindavan today. After your visit to the Shri Krishna-Balram Temple we would head back to Delhi.
